In West Cornwall, things are moving on apace at the wonderful Tremenheere sculpture park and gardens, which overlook St Michael's Mount and the sea near Penzance. The new art gallery there has been opened and I have been asked to develop plans for a special ceramic installation in one of the woodland pools in the spectacular sub-tropical garden.
Ceramics are being increasingly appreciated as a suitable medium for outdoor sculpture. The work Lunch on the Grass by Caroline Winn, based on the Manet painting Dejeuner sur l’herbehas just been installed and is now on display at Tremenheere.
There are some other wonderful installations in the Park including by David Nash, Richard Long and James Turrell - as well as a gallery and restaurant, all set within spectacular sub-tropical gardens.
